Hooton Pagnell Hall Wedding Venue // Pre-Wedding Couple Shoot

Already getting married at Hooton Pagnell Hall? Amazing taste you have! Looking for your perfect wedding venue? Don’t hesitate to get in touch with the amazing Nick and Ella that run the place!

Nestled away on the north outskirts of Doncaster in the little village of Hooton Pagnell, this really is a hidden gem. Although it’s only a 30 minute drive from my home, I had never heard of the venue until the lovely Victoria and Mike got in touch to book me to photograph their wedding day. They’d chose Hooton Pagnell Hall as their wedding venue and seen as the venue team were so welcoming and it looked like such a stunning venue in the photos I had seen, we chose to do their pre-wedding shoot their too.

I love pre-wedding shoots for many reasons, but here are just two of them.

The first; you get to experience what it’s like to have me around taking photos of you before your wedding day and you realise there’s nothing to be scared about. In fact, it settles those nerves and makes you look forward to having me around capturing your wedding day even more!

“We just love love love these photographs!! Thank you so much for capturing these for us, especially of Harry too, just perfect. We absolutely cannot wait for the wedding now and we have no doubt you’re going to do an amazing job for us.”

The second; it’s a chance for us to get to know each other some more, chat through your plans, and answer any questions that might be on your mind. Emails and calls are all well and good, but sitting down over a drink before the shoot to chat through everything is what I’d take any day of the week - I’m sure you would too! So that’s exactly what we did before this shoot.

When I first arrived at the venue I realised that it’s much bigger than what I imagined. I drove down the long driveway, already mentally noting dozens of stunning little spots littered across the venue for amazing photo opportunities. Victoria, Mike and their lovely newborn son met me at the reception lounge. Ella and Nick from the venue were there too and it was a really great time to be able to chat through all of their plans together in one room. I could tell straight away that this is a venue with a difference, and during our shoot Victoria and Mike confirmed this with what they told me of their experience with the venue. Your not simply a name booked in on a date here, and you won’t be forgotten due to wedding coordinators coming and going each month. Hooton Pagnell Hall gives such a personal service and clearly runs the tightest of ships.

I went about our pre-wedding shoot in my usual fashion; taking a stroll around some beautiful little spots, finding some gorgeous light, and simply capturing what unfolds. A little direction was given so that they know where to stand or walk along, but other than that the chatting continues (whilst I craftily capture them doing their thing!).

Like we all would, they had some nerves before the little shoot. But after we’d spent about an hour of having a laugh, simply chatting away in this gorgeous location, and once they received the photos from me, I’m happy to once again hear that it’s made this couple really excited for what they’ll receive after their big day! And so am I!

This shoot was at the start of January 2020 and their wedding isn’t until late May 2020. This venue is going to look a whole lot different once Spring is in full swing, so if I’m here thinking it’s stunning place in January, who knows how much I’ll be raving about the place after the wedding day!
